About Us:

History:

The Syracuse University Curling Club was founded in 2018 by Paul Mokotoff, and Syracuse University Professor Rebecca Schewe. Upon forming the club, there were eight initial members that curled and competed in the College Curling Tour.

During their first season (the 2018-2019 academic year), the club participated in a number of bonspiels (tournaments), and won the Cape Cod College Bonspiel. After a strong performance during the season, they qualified for College Curling Nationals in Boston, MA, at which they won the Consolation Bracket. After an amazing first season, they look forward to recruiting new members this season to continue on the successful track they started last year.

2019-20 was a season of growth for the club, with many new members joining and competing. The season was highlighted by 3rd and 4th place finishes by both of the young the Syracuse teams at the RPI College Bonspiel, and a run to the final at the Utica College Bonspiel, our home event, where the team lost a heartbreaker to Cornell on the final stone.

COVID delayed the teams plans to compete for a National title in both 2020 and 2021, but the whole squad is looking forward to being a frontrunner in both the region and country in 2021-22, as an experienced core returns.
